Shocking Joburg CBD robbery has internet users sharing 'survival tips'

A robbery in the Johannesburg CBD had Joburgers giving advice on how to survive in the streets of JHB.
Walking in Johannesburg is usually considered an extreme sport - your chances of getting robbed are extremely high.
A video of a robbery in the CBD left Facebook users horrified and wanting to avoid going to town altogether. In the video, a man can be seen innocently strolling along a busy pavement on Wolmarans and Simmonds Streets when a pair of thieves surrounded him and took his belongings. The man tried to fight them off but lost the battle. During the robbery, other civilians could be seen running from the scene, trying to avoid getting involved.

Facebook users commented on the post shared by the Intelligence Bureau, sharing their tips to stay safe while walking the streets.
Some recommended walking at a fast pace, looking confident, and never asking for directions. Others shared their own experiences and wondered if the victim was new to Joburg.
Others simply advised people to avoid the CBD altogether.
