A video has gone viral showing a rescue worker saving a dog which was trapped in ice in Boston, USA.

In the video, the firefighter can be seen pushing himself through the ice and making his way to the dog.
Once he gets to the dog, he manages to use a hook to break the ice surrounding the dog. Fortunately, he manages to rescue her and carry her to safety.
The rescue comes after a passerby by the name of Emily Andrea Robertson phoned emergency services.
“I almost didn’t walk the way I did on the pond but I’m glad I did!. I saw Maggie (the dog) had broken through the ice and her owner, William was shouting for her. Ran over and took off my boots and prepared to go in if she went under (I know it’s not too deep over there because I’ve been wading there) but the ice broke pretty quickly underfoot so I decided to call 911. The fire department came out and bravely rescued her. Mad props to them. Maggie is such a sweetheart and I'm so glad she's ok! ” Robertson wrote on Facebook.
