Viral TikTok cooking trend could kill you

Many
things go viral on TikTok, but cooking using medication is a new one.

Social media users have been warned against trying the ‘Sleepy Chicken’ cooking trend because it can cause serious harm.

The trend requires people to use nighttime cough syrup as a replacement for oil when cooking chicken in a pan.
The Federal Drug Administration in the US issued a warning saying that heating any medication to such a degree could make it much more concentrated.
Another health issue is caused by the vaporised medication that the person cooking will inhale.

The FDA stated: “These video challenges, which often target youths, can harm people — and even cause death.”.
