Will Smith shares his philosophy for success

So often we wonder what it takes to be a success. We look at people like Will Smith and wonder how many hours and sleepless nights are sacrificed in order for one to realise their dreams.

Not only has Smith enjoyed success in television, film, and music, but he is also a family man.

So just what does it take for Smith to excel in his craft?

"The separation of talent and skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel , who have dreams and want to do things. Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft" he once said in an interview with Today.

"I've never really viewed myself as particularly talented , but where I excel is ridiculous, sickening work ethic. You know when the other guy is sleeping, I'm working , while the other guy is eating, I'm working. There is no easy way around it. No matter how talented you are ,your talent is going to fail you if you are not skilled . You know, if you don't study, if you don't work really hard and dedicate yourself to being better every single day, you will never be able to communicate with people with your artistry the way that you want," he added.
