According to the New York Post, the couple were killed after leaving their wedding ceremony at a courthouse in the town of Orange, which is 150km of east of the town Houston.
The Morgans left the parking lot and merged onto the highway when their car was struck by a truck. According to local reports, the groom’s mother, Kennia Morgan, was driving behind them and tried desperately to save the couple, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Kennia said in an interview with New York Post the pair were high school sweethearts and the “only thing that they wanted was to get married.”
“They haven’t even been married for five minutes,” Kennia said.
The accident is currently under investigation.
