78-year-old, South African man who lives life as doll
Updated | By Scenic Drive with Rian van Heerden
A man with a secret identity, he enjoys dressing up as a doll named 'Spirit'.
'Spirit' is part of a global subculture and growing community of ‘female maskers’ who wear latex or silicone masks, torsos and body suits to make them look like the female dolls.
With mostly immobile or ‘doll-like’ faces, these costumes seem to be closer to female mannequins than real women. The costume also consists of a full latex suit complete with high heels.

Latex as a material is not easy to wear. It doesn't breathe and once a person is sheathed in it, it can become very uncomfortable in hot conditions.
'Spirit' spoke to Rian and the team about his interest life choice.
