In an interview with The Guardian, Rex said that they offered him a lot of money to lie about the Duchess of Sussex, but he refused to.

“I was broke as f*ck! I really needed the money. But I’ll be on food stamps before I do that.”

The Duchess wrote him a thank you letter after he refused to lie.

"It’s nice to know there are still good people,’” Markle told Rex.

Markle won her legal battle with Associated Papers, the publishers of the Mail on Sunday, in December. In a lengthy appeal, the Court of Appeal in London ruled in her favour.

As a result of this decision, the case will not proceed to trial and Markle is now due financial damages.
