Award-winning chef duo share their inspirational story with Rian

The brand new winners of the 'Clash of Ages' cooking show joined Rian and the team!
Thapelo Aphane aka 'TP' grew up at Steyn’s Culinary School (ScS) in Pretoria before it was a cooking school. He says he went through high school while spending most of his time in a kitchen environment. After matric, he was sent to the Mount Nelson in Cape Town where he did an internship. He spent two years at the Mount Nelson before doing his culinary diploma at ScS.
TP was adopted by the principal of Steyn Culinary School, Chef Maria at the age of nine.

TP was part of the junior Olympic culinary event and trained by Marita Steyn. He currently gives classes at the cullenary school also motivates youngsters to work hard to achieve their dreams.
He was called back to ScS in December last year after he
travelled the country as part of the Junior Culinary team that took part in the
Olympics.
TP says his biggest achievement thus far was on the SA
Junior Culinary Team. The last one was in 2016 in Germany and saw over
30 countries cooking up a storm.
It was the first time that the SA junior team competed and the came back with a bronze medal.

Alfred Moseny, started at ScS in the garden at
the school and then got employed in the garden. After his garden work, he would
offer himself to help out in the kitchen. He was later offered a full bursary
at Steyns. He did his internship at Fancourt and then got permanent employment.
He was later called back to Steyns as a lecturer’s assistant.
Rian invited TP and Alfred to the show to talk about their amazing win. They also prepared a lovely dish for the team
