14-year-old Renier Labuschagne is legally blind - and his biggest wish for his birthday was to celebrate it with the Scenic Drive team.

According to Essilor News, someone who is legally blind has a corrected vision of 20/200. You might feel like you're legally blind if you can't see beyond a foot in front of you without wearing glasses, but as long as your vision can be corrected to 20/20 with a visual aid, such as glasses, then you are not considered legally blind.

At the age of 9, he lost his eye-sight due to medical negligence.

His mother, Gerdien Labuschagne, messaged the Scenic Drive to ask if he could meet the team and see the station.

The Labuschagne family visited Jacaranda FM and Renier had the opportunity to meet the Rian van Heerden and the Scenic Drive to celebrate his birthday with a delicious cake.

"I can see all of you, but I can't see the detail of your faces.

"People don't understand. People think I am different. They think I am an alien," Renier told the Scenic Drive.
