Chantel Struwig becomes part of the #BeYou campaign for a clothing brand

A few months ago, Chantel Struwig joined Rian van Heerden to talk about her unique birthmark. Today, she is a model for a clothing brand.

Every day she must face the reality of people staring at her, but she is glad that God made her unique.

When Chantel was little, doctors thought she might suffer from Sturge-Weber syndrome, a rare disease that causes epilepsy.

After tests, they discovered that the red mark on her face was just a birthmark. While growing up and going to school, it was never easy for her to be herself because she was 'different', but she always tries to be positive.

In March, Chantel Struwig joined Rian van Heerden to share her incredible story. She accepted her unique birthmark, and she is proud of it. She has more than 13,500 followers on Instagram and Chantel is now an inspiration to many young girls and boys who are struggling with their own insecurities.

Today, Struwig is the proudly collaborating model of the clothing brand, Refinery. She is also part of the #BeYou campaign for the brand.

LOOK AT THE BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS

This whole thing still feels so surreal. To think that a couple of years ago I was this insecure little girl who felt like there was next to nothing left for me on this earth. Not meeting the standards of what is considered “normal looking” really took a toll on how I viewed and validated myself. Today though I feel empowered, I feel loved, I feel confident, I feel beautiful. None of this would be possible if it weren’t for everyone’s continuous love and support, wether sending me a dm or coming up to me in public, asking for a photo or telling me how I inspire you to accept yourself. I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. Thank you. Tomorrow, 25 July 2019, I will be in the shopfronts of all the refinery shops all over South Africa to launch their spring collection and I can’t freaking wait for everyone to see it!!
