DJ Sbu breaks world record for longest radio broadcast of nine-days

Radio legend DJ Sbu talked to the Scenic Drive about his illustrious radio career, world record and launching a brand new online radio station.

DJ Sbu confirmed that he's finally hanging up the radio headphones to focus on making music and his brand new online radio station, Homegrown.

This comes after he set a new world record for the longest radio broadcast on his online radio station, Massiv Metro. The broadcast lasted nine-days. 

This earned him a Guinness World Record. 

DJ Sbu sat down with Rian van Heerden and Philicity Reeken to talk about his radio career, a Guinness World Record and upcoming projects.

"I'm retiring from being behind the mic. There is now more mediums of broadcasting like social media and digital. I decided to launch an online radio station to train and nurture upcoming talent." 

"Digital has made it possible for audiences to be more diverse."
