Louise and Damian Payne had just said their "I Do's" at Gwesty'r Marine Hotel in Aberystwyth, Wales when they were confronted by an angry man named Neil Jones. Neil accused one of the wedding guests of sleeping with his wife, and was seen banging on one of the hotel room doors shouting at the people inside.

Damian left the reception without cutting the wedding cake to try and stop the commotion. During the physical altercation that followed, Niel bit into Damian's upper arm, leaving a wound.

While it is not clear what raised Neil's suspicions about his partner, it has since emerged that he was high on drugs at the time of the incident.
