"I'm doing great" - Kelly Khumalo opens up about the controversy in her life

Award-winning singer, Kelly Khumalo opened up about the controversy surrounding her life, the pain, the success and her passion for music.

In 2020, Kelly Khumalo's lawyer set the record straight after Khumalo was named in a leaked charge sheet for her apparent connection to the murder of Senzo Meyiwa. 

In 2014, soccer player Senzo Meyiwa was reportedly shot and killed in the presence of Khumalo and her mother and sister. 

Magdalene Moonsamy, Khumalo's attorney, told eNCA, Khumalo has not been charged, has no connections to any of the arrested suspects and has fully cooperated with the police investigation.

Moonsamy said the leak of the confidential documents was malicious and part of the ongoing harassment of her client.

The talented singer has faced many trials, tribulations, pain and controversy over the years. But this did not stop the award-winning singer from accomplishing her dreams. 

Khumalo shot to fame after the release of her debut album, T.K.O. 

Khumalo was named the Best Newcomer of 2005 in the Afro Pop music circuit. Khumalo also has her own gin called, 'Controversy'.

In 2020, Khumalo's hit reality show, 'Living With Kelly Khumalo' debuted on the streaming platform, Showmax. Her new album, 'The Voice Of Africa' delves into themes of love and the richness of African history.

Khumalo opened up to Rian van Heerden about her passion for music, her evolution in the industry, the inspiration behind her new album, and her outlook on life.

"I'm doing great. I've gone through things in my life. Phases of beauty and ugliness but the phase that I'm in now is so beautiful. I found so much peace."
