Johannesburg man one of the candidates for COVID-19 vaccine

Krisjan Fourie from Johannesburg is one of more than 2,000 candidates testing the AstraZeneca vaccine in South Africa.

Most parts of the world are facing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccines are rolling out in countries like the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Krisjan Fourie from Johannesburg is one of the South African candidates testing the AstraZeneca vaccine. The AstraZenca is one out of four candidate vaccines being tested in South Africa.
When he announced on social media that he is one of the candidates - most people were not that excited.

He said those who received the candidate vaccine should experience mild COVID-19 symptoms shortly after the injection. It shows the body is forming antibodies, and the vaccine is working.
