Journalist finds love with one of the 'Krugersdorp Murderers'

Marizka Coetzer, a journalist, found love with one of the 'Krugersdorp Murderers' - and she joined the Scenic Drive to share more.

Marizka Coetzer was one of the journalists that were appointed to follow the 'Krugersdorp Murderers' - but things took an interesting and unexpected turn.

Coetzer made headlines after the news broke that she was in a romantic relationship with one of the murders who was on trial.

Coetzer and Le Loux Steyn (22-year-old at that time) romance started while on trial.

According to the Sunday Times, Steyn was sentenced to an effective 25 years in prison.

Coetzer joined the Scenic Drive to share more and to talk about her new book 'Afspraakmoorde: Liefde In Die Tronk.' 

"Well, it happened by accident. No one decides to wake up one day and decide to date a murderer. 

"Yes, I was married, but after weeks of investigating the case - I fell in love with him. 

"I told him that he must first get rehab and fix himself before we can start life after prison. 

"To be honest, my family is not very happy." 

According to Coetzer, Le Loux killed five people.
