KZN cop too drunk to stand while on duty
Pietermaritzburg residents caught a police officer who was highly intoxicated while on duty on video.
Residents in Pietermaritzburg called for police help, but quickly realised that the constable who had arrived at the scene was not fit to perform his duties. The young man was visibly drunk, struggling to speak or even keep his eyes open.
The residents taunt him as he is unable to even stand up straight while getting out of his vehicle.
The unidentified constable, who usually reports for duty at the Mountain Rise police station in Pietermaritzburg, has been taken off duty and is currently being investigated. Until the investigation is concluded, the constable will carry no weapons and will be confined to desk duty.
