Russia launched a “military operation” in Ukraine on Thursday morning.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also vowed retaliation against anyone who interfered and called on the Ukraine military to lay down its arms.
Jacaranda FM News reported that more than 40 Ukrainian soldiers and around 10 civilians died in the first hours of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Ukraine ambassador to South Africa Liubov Abravitova also said the spirit of the military is high back home amidst the invasion by Russia.
