Mbuyiseni Ndlozi demands SA's diamonds back from the Queen

Queen Elizabeth II owns two of the largest diamonds ever found. Both were discovered in South Africa.

Politician Mbusiyseni Ndlozi and a member of the EFF demanded South Africa's diamonds be returned by the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II is in possession of two of the biggest diamonds ever found. Both diamonds were discovered in South Africa.

Ndlozi made some controversial statements on Twitter about wanting the diamonds back.

In the tweet, Ndlozi wrote that the crown needs to be "expropriated without compensation" and that the diamonds belong in the country they came from. 

"Expropriation of the Queen's crown without compensation: we want our diamonds back!" Ndlozi wrote on Twitter. 

The Cullinan I and Cullinan II diamonds are two of the largest diamonds ever found.

According to Cape Town Diamond Museum, the Cullinan I diamond is 530.2 carat, pear-shaped (or Star of Africa) and is set as the main stone in the majestic Sceptre with the Cross.

According to The Royal Collection Trust, the Cullinan II diamond was discovered near Pretoria in South Africa on 26 January 1905 and is named after the chairman of the mining company, Thomas Cullinan.
