Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Sought-after South African chef Lesego Semenya's food philosophy centres on heritage and wholesome eating.

Chef Lesego Semenya has built an extensive portfolio of food experiences for himself. After qualifying with a Grande Diploma in Food and Wine at the Prue Leith Chef's Academy in Centurion, Chef Lesego went on to become a judge on Top Chef South Africa. He has worked under Nicky Gibbs at The Westcliff and has catered for famous names such as Richard Branson, Howard Buffet, and Bill Gates.
Along the way he has stayed true to his motto of "taking the snobbery out of food". He often shares recipes on Twitter and has built a successful catering business under the name Les Da Chef.
His first cookbook is called Dijo - My Food, My Journey and it highlights Chef Lesego's favourite authentically South African recipes while also placing Soweto at the centre of the narrative.
