In a statement released on Tuesday, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said there have been 14 new local transmissions over the past 24 hours.

One of the 116 cases in the country is, Andrew McPhearson, who is also asthmatic.

McPhearson came back from Zurich and landed on the 9th of March. He tested positive for Covid-19 on the 12th of March and is currently in self-quarantine.

Rian van Heerden was joined by McPherson telephonically to talk about his struggle with the disease.

"I decided to share my story to spread more information.

"I am at my house in Cape Town. I'm under self-quarantine.

"I'm working. The virus makes me tired, but I'm still working from home.

"The symptoms were so mild. I didn't feel sick at all.

"It will be a mild flu for most of us. But we must take care of ourselves, and try not to spread it.

"The virus can only get to you through your mouth, face and eyes. So if you touch your face, you might get the virus. The virus is not in the air.

"If you get tested negative today, it doesn't mean that you will stay negative. You might get it tomorrow.

"Don't fear the virus, fear spreading the virus.

"Consider other people. Consider the weak, old and the poor," McPhearson.
