The team from Hollywood Costumes wowed Rian with their skills

Rian invited Anel Kleynhans and Heidi du Toit from Hollywood Costumes to the Scenic Drive to talk about the amazing work they do with costumes, props and make-up for big productions. 

Hollywood Costumes is based in Krugersdorp West, where Heidi has run her business for 21 years. In that time, she has been able to add a smaller Cape Town branch to her company. As a qualified costumier and fashion designer, Heidi says that this kind of work is her passion.

The passion has taken her very far indeed, as she has provided costumes and props for productions such as Safari, Treurgrond and Blended. Each piece is made with love and dedication, which explains why so many of the props used on set end up being bought by the actors or the production houses that requested them.

To demonstrate just how talented Heidi and Anel are when it comes to make-up artistry and costumes, Rian asked them to come to studio to transform local legend of stage and screen Lizz Meiring into something quite spectacular.

Lizz had only good things to say about Hollywood Costumes, mentioning that they are highly professional and will always rise to meet a challenge.

This was the final product.



Lizz looks like a mix of three of Disney’s best-known villains: Ursula, Mustafa and Maleficent. Anel completed this look in just under two hours using an extensive make-up kit and a prosthetic forehead.
