What do you do if, while you're driving to work, you look up and see a car suspended from a bridge?

A reasonable person would want to find out how the car ended up there, and to see if the passengers are safe. That is exactly how Constable Victor Kwong of the Toronto police department reacted when his mother-in-law pointed out a car dangling from the Leaside Bridge near Don River.

The Constable got out of the car to investigate and found that the car was empty. Constable Kwong called 911 "out of concern for public safety", not wanting anyone who would usually frequent the hiking trail beneath the bridge to potentially have the suspended car fall on them.

Constable Jenniferjit Sidhu reported that the car was stripped of its licence plate and that the area beneath the car had been cordoned off with yellow tape similar to that used at crime scenes. The area was set up to look like a movie scene.

The local fire department arrived on the scene to cut the car down safely.

Toronto police are baffled about the origins of the car, but they do suspect that the car is part of a prank by local university students, who are known for pulling elaborate stunts to mark their graduation.
