Verkykerskop in the Free State is up for sale

Ever wanted to buy a small town? Well, now is your time!

Have you ever thought that you could buy a small town?
Over the weekend, the Sunday Times reported that after a small town of Verkykerskop in the Free State was up for sale for R5 million.

The lucky buyer will get: a general dealer, original maize mill, five-bedroom guesthouse, a chapel, a fully outfitted function venue, a backpackers, a boutique hotel, a coffee shop, liquor store and hair salon.


Rian and the Scenic Drive invited the owners, Matt Hofmann and his wife to talk about the auction.
Matt told Rian that he and his wife run the town, so they do everything themselves. "We also have a few great workers who help us run the town," Matt added.
"My wife and I must sell the town because we are too old to do all the work," Matt said. They are also selling over 700 antiques.
The auction starts from 7 to 8 June.
