'Wie's jou tannie?', Viv Vermaak asks with tears in her eyes
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Viv Vermaak from Germiston has a very big problem with being called "tannie". She tried to convince Rian and the team that the term was discriminatory, but she did not find anyone to agree with her.

Viv Vermaak feels very strongly that no one should ever call women "tannie".
Viv explained to Rian why she believes the word should be banned from the common vocabulary. Viv believes that if you are not speaking to someone who is married to your own uncle, you should not call them "aunt" or tannie.
Viv and Rian got into a heated discussion about the term as Viv refused to concede that someone addressing you as "tannie" is a sign that they were brought up with good manners.
Viv stood her ground, saying while others may not agree with her, it is her personal preference to not be called tannie.
Our listeners had mixed feelings but mostly agreed that being called tannie or auntie was nothing to be offended over.
