Members of the Buzzfit gym in Montreal, Canada will think twice before confronting fellow exercise enthusiasts about their bad habits after this incident.

A teenager was filming himself during a weightlifting session when he was approached by an angry-looking member of the gym, who immediately began verbally abusing him.

The older man tells the young weightlifter (who has since been identified as Charles-Antoine Lalonde) that he has to leave and the two get into a minor physical confrontation. Reports state that the older man's complaint was the young weightlifter's handling of the weights: he was dropping them down and they were making a noise.

The man kicked the weights out of Charles-Antoine's hands, adding an element of danger to what was already a disrespectful move. Thankfully, neither of the men was hurt.

Powerlifting expert Pete Rubish said that this type of lifting was noisy by nature but that Charles-Antoine had laid mats down to try and minimise the sound of the weights dropping between each of his repetitions.

It is unclear why the other gym member chose to ignore Charles-Antoine's efforts to make his workout less noisy.

The attacker has been banned from the gym while Charles-Antoine has been courted by rival gym SSP Barbell Club, who offered the young man free gym membership for one year.
