We all know the feeling. Your goal is in sight, but you just need one last push.
If you could get that last little bit of money, you would be able to reach your dreams! But where do you turn to at a time like this?

This is where crowdfunding comes in. With a growing number of platforms such as Kickstarter, ThunderFund, GoFundMe and GoGetFunding available to the public, raising capital is as simple as uploading a profile.

Those seeking funding can offer incentives such as branded merchandise or personalised thank you notes to donors.

Marcel Steenkamp and Martea Roos have chosen to set up a profile on GoGetFunding in order to raise money for their dream wedding.
Here is their story:

My name is Martea and I am getting married to Marcel.

We are from Cape Town, South Africa.

Weddings these days are extremely expensive, even the simple ones.

With us having to pay for our own wedding, we would love for you to help us get to the altar!

We entered a competition to win a wedding (and the odds were one to 12) but unfortunately did not win.

Our wedding will be on the 6th of October 2018.

Thank you once again for your consideration in donating to our wedding.

The couple is offering a personalised thank you video to donors who put up the highest amount.

Marcel and Martea had a special proposal on the VIA show, Sê net ja:

The couple took their campaign live on-air during Rian's show, and many listeners sympathised with them, even going as far as offering donations.
Martea and Marcel spoke about what they had in mind for a perfect wedding:

Aspiring musician PJ Pretorius knows all about working hard to make dreams come true. Having made his debut on The Voice South Africa in 2017, PJ now wants to book studio time to record a debut album.

I am a upcoming vocal artist that entered the music industry with a bang. The demand for my CD is growing on a daily basis and I feel that I owe this to my fans and supporters. Unfortunately I do not have the funds to make such a production possible, therefore I am starting this campaign.

Which of these causes would you donate to?
