In December 2017, a woman named Amethyst Realm told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby of Britain's This Morning that she had sworn off men - in favour of ghosts

Presenters and viewers alike were stunned by the Bristol spiritual guidance counsellor's outlandish declarations.

Amethyst said she began noticing a "presence" in her home 12 years ago when she was still with her (human) fiancé. Amethyst described how she was keen to get to know the spiritual presence better and invited it into her bedroom one night.

After that, Amethyst was convinced that the energy of the spirit was much better than any relationship she had had with a living man. Amethyst committed herself to having relationships only with ghosts. Now Amethyst says that a spirit she met while on holiday in Australia is the one she wants to raise a family with

Amethyst believes there is very little holding her back from having a baby with her ghoulish boyfriend, especially given the fairly regular occurrence of phantom pregnancies in women.

Not deterred by the science behind the issue, Amethyst says she has done her own research and believes phantom pregnancies are "caused by literal 'ghost babies' trapped in human bodies".

While Amethyst maintains that having babies with a ghost is "not completely out of the question", it is probably safe to assume that she won't be bringing any of Casper's lost cousins into the world any time soon...
