Updated | By Poelano Malema
A very sad video has gone viral showing a lion being rescued from a snare in Zimbabwe.

The lion was rescued by vets of Aware Trust Zimbabwe - an organisation which helps to protect wildlife.
According to Sky News, locals reportedly heard growling from a nearby river gully, before calling the vets. The video of the rescue shows the vets tranquilising the lion before removing the snare wrapped around its front right paw.
The good news is that after being rescued, the lion was found with no serious injuries.
Below is the video of the rescue.
