TCB listeners prepare to meet the Reaper

Listeners who think they dominate in the department of hot foods prepare to taste the hottest pepper in the world - the Carolina Reaper.

After Rian had to eat the Habanero Chili as part of the challenge against Pakistan, there were several people who had a lot to say about the execution of the stunt. Remarks varied from accusations of faking it to those saying they ‘eat chilies like green peppers’ and would gladly have devoured the yellow little number that rendered Rian speechless (by speechless, we mean that he could literally not get the words out due to the burning sensation in his mouth).

So the team challenged the listeners of the show to identify themselves if they were brave enough to come onto the show and participate in a challenge of a similar nature.

Selvan Pillay and Johan Lombard came out tops and found out this morning what is in store for them on Friday...

Carolina Reaper Facts

According to the 2013 Guinness Book of World Records, this is the hottest chilli in the world! It rates at an average of 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), according to tests conducted by Winthrop University in South Carolina, USA, throughout 2012.
