Take part in SA's biggest dinner date

TCB put out a challenge to SA to take part in a nation-wide dinner where you are required to do only two things: Invite somebody from a different cultural group over for dinner, and Talk. So far some impressive names have given their official RSVP to the #DinnerDateSA list...

Rian van Heerden from The Complimentary Breakfast stumbled upon a study wherein Dutch and Canadian scientists found that people are generally friendlier and more willing to make compromises at the dining table - in a nutshell, if there is a need to have a difficult conversation, best to do it over dinner.

With that train of thought came the idea that conversation is lacking in South Africa and in order to understand one another in a better light, we as a nation need to talk.

The Complimentary Breakfast has put out a challenge encouraging every South African from all walks of life to take part in this nation-wide dinner on 29 May where you are required to do only two things: Invite somebody from a different cultural group over for dinner, and Talk. So far some impressive people have given their names to the RSVP list.

Shaleen Surtie-Richards

REMEMBER:

You are either required to play the host, or accept an invitation for dinner with a colleague, neighbour or family from within your community that is of a different race/culture to that of your own. The idea is to learn something new about each other through a night of conversation.

If you're planning on taking part, we would love to follow your story on the eve of 29 May. Drop us a tweet confirming your participation:
