BACKGROUND: Desire has been through a terrible ordeal. She and her husband, Michael were attacked by robbers in their home. Her husband was shot and killed and Desiré was raped. This happened in October, the evening before her birthday. Instead of enjoying the surprize birthday party her husband had planned for her - they were mourning his death. Their two young children were at her mom's home, where they stay during the week when they go to school. A few weeks later, the robbers returned and shot out some of their home's windows. This time, her children were home. They are now fearing for their lives and living with her mom - too scared to go home. Desiré is strong for her children and doing her best to support them emotionally and financially. She hasn't dealt with her own rape and doesn't dwell on that now. Her children are keeping her focussed on the future. However, the loss of her best friend and loving husband has left an irreplaceable void - and now she worries how she will support her children once the funds her husband provided for in case of his passing, run out ...

Hello julle,
Vandag wil ek vir julle skryf oor n baie sterk dame, Desire. Sy het by my gewerk op ons plot in 2009. Haar man Michael, het saam my gewerk by EPX Couriers. Ons het haar van die plot af geskuif na ons besigheid toe as 'n rep omdat sy so talentvol is.
Verlede maand was daar ingebreek by hulle huis in Modjadji deur 3 mans. Haar man is doodgeskiet en sy is aangerand en verkrag. Verlede week het die 3 teruggegaan na haar huistoe en haar probeer doodskiet. Sy het deur alles sterk gestaan.
Maar, sy het nie gewerk nie en net Michael het ‘n inkomste gehad. So ek wil asb vra dat julle vir haar 2 dogters ‘n kersgeskenk sal gee en dalk kos vir oor die tydperk. Sy kry baie swaar en dink dit sal druk van haar afhaal.
Sal dit baie waardeer.
