Background:
SAYING GOODBYE AND BUILDING NEW MEMORIES
Ulandi will always be a mother of three: two daughters and a son. Her youngest daughter has been in-and-out of hospital with heart, brain and sight problems. She still needs more heart surgeries, but she's doing well. Amid all this, Ulandi got the news that she was pregnant for the 3rd time - with a son. She was overjoyed! He was born in October this year. Before they left hospital it was discovered that he too had a heart defect - only 3 chambers instead of 4. After a 9 hour operation he could eventually go home with Ulandi, but they had to return to hospital. On 23 October - not even a month old - Ulandi's baby boy died. She asked Good Morning Angels to help her honor his memory, by putting a headstone on his little grave. Our friends at Rennies and Avis are ready to help and more ...

Good afternoon Jacaranda team
So today I’m coming to you as a heart broken mother. Hoping you can help
So here is my story:
I’m a mother of 3. 2 girls and 1 boy
My youngest daughter was born with a heart defect in 2012 she had to undergo 2 open heart surgeries, she had to undergo brain surgery to remove a brain apses, she went 100% blind although her sight came back after the brain surgery, she had a stroke, she couldn’t use her left site, she started with epilepsy etc. Today she is a healthy little girl with minor problems left, although she still needs to go for more open heart surgeries
In January this year I found out I was pregnant with baby nr 3. We were very excited about the pregnancy. All the ultrasounds looked good and we did not pick up any defects with the baby and we found out it was a boy, we were even more excited when we found out its a boy. The baby was born 1 October 2014, on day 3 the peads doctor said we can go home because everything looks good and he is happy. So a sister came to do a routine oxygen level test on the baby and we noticed his oxygen levels were a bit low. So they got a cardiac doctor to come and do an ecco to make sure there was no problems. We received very bad news. Our baby boy had HLHS( Hypo plastic left heart syndrome) meaning he only had 3 heart champers, he was rushed to ICU and transferred over to Sunnninghill hospital the next morning. There our baby boy received another ecco and the doctors advised us his heart is a lot more complex than just the HLHS. he underwent open heart surgery for 9 hours. Operations was a huge success and the doctors were all happy.
On the evening of the 22nd October we got a phone call saying things werent looking good and we need to go in and spent the last few hours or minutes with our boy. Sadly he passed away the next morning on the 23rd.
So today I'm coming to you as a very sore and broken mommy. Just to ask if you can make my wish true just to put a head stone on for my little boy as we do not have the funds to do so.
We did receive donations from all over for his funeral and ran short to cover for his little head stone.
It will really be appreciated if you can help
Kind regards
Ulandi Nel
