GOOD MORNING ANGLES 13 JANUARY 2016 (JENNIE/SACMA)
Helping 2015 matriculant, Jennie, to fulfill her dream of qualifying as a hair dresser
REQUEST FOR: Jennie Venter
ANGEL: Wilco Uys from the South African Colliery Managers’ Association, SACMA
SPONSORING: The South African Colliery Managers’ Association held a very successful fundraiser recently and will donate sponsor Jennie's first year of hair dressing training and everything she needs, as well as some pocket money, to the value of R70 000,00! SAMCA Also helped to take the kids for their first ever sea holiday this past December.
BACKGROUND: Jennie Venter has just finished matric and like any other matriculant, she has a dream for her future. Jennie is the eldest of an unusually large family. She's been living at the Gracia Children's Home in Pretoria North, with more than 70 other children, from all ages. She is a big sister to many and a great help in the home. She overcame many obstacles in her young life to finish school and become a productive, self sustained young woman. Now, she just needs some help to take the next step and to fulfill her dream to qualify as a hair dresser ...
TWO of SAMCA's staff members interviewed Jennie before the grant was decided on.
They were unanimous in their feedback that Jennie represents the type of talent exactly required by the South African Colliery Managers’ Association.
They found her to be a role model in a very challenging environment, with aspirations to rise beyond her circumstances and the passion to fulfill her dream to become a hairdresser. "Jennie is a special young lady, with huge potential and a "winner".
SAMCA views this grant as an investment in potential rather than a handout.
The sponsorship for 2016 will fund Jennie's enrollment at a private hair academy. SAMCA will pay all registration and class fees, three uniforms and a full start up kit to become a hairdresser. SAMCA will add some funds for out of pocket expenses to a total value of R70 000-00.
Baie geluk en regtig alle sterkte met jou kursus. Ek weet jy is ‘n ster wat baie helder gaan skyn!
