Good Morning Angels Extra (Izanne Van der Burgh)
Updated | By Bronwyn Hardick

Background:
Lenice Struwig is very concerned over her high school friend, Izanne and her family. Izanne's 17-year old brother recently committed suicide - leaving behind his twin sister, sister Izanne and parents. Izanne's mom has been battling cancer for the past eight years and her dad got a job, after looking for a year after being retrenched. Lenice wrote to Good Morning Angels, asking for just R2000,00 to help the family pay the funeral costs - she's willing to give all her savings of R3000,00 to help her friend's family. Lenice says the Van der Burgh family often raise funds for CANSA to help cancer sufferers like their mom - and they will never ask for help for themselves - even if things are difficult at home.
Angel:
The Good Morning Angels fund will help the Van der Burg family with R10 000,00 to pay for their son's funeral and some other debts - so the Lenice can keep her R3000,00 savings, that she wanted to give to the family.

Good Morning Angels
I don't know how this works but I have a feeling in my heart that I should help this little family!
I know the Van der Burgh family through Izanne van der Burgh, one of my old high school friends. They have quite a heart breaking story and I would like to share it with you!!
They were a family of 5: a father, a mother, a twin brother and sister and an older sister - Izanne my friend from high school. They always struggled a little bit with money as the mother has been struggling with cancer for over 8 years now. She hasn't had a full head of hair since I can remember. The father had been retrenched quite some time ago and I can remember that she was asking around for a job for her father. He had been unemployed for almost a year and still had to look after his sick wife and 3 children. He finally got a job and almost back on his feet when unfortunately the twin brother committed suicide about a month ago at the age of 17 years old right before his matric exams!! The family is not coping very well at this stage. If you could just meet this little family you would see so much love and hurt they are really something special and kind to everyone!!
My friend sent me a message last night asking for some help as her father is getting sick now. He started getting blood clots in his legs and is struggling to work under all the pressure. He would never ask anybody for help, but his daughter is seeing that there is something wrong and cried out to me!!
She said that they are struggling with food and all the medical bills and her dad had to take out a loan for her brother's funeral which he is struggling to pay off. She asked me if I can lend her R3000 which she can give to her father to pay some of the bills! My friend and her family does a lot of charity work for people with cancer and never take a cent for themselves.
I really think this family is just in need of a break. I don't want to lend her the money - I want to give it to her - so I am taking all of my savings which is more or less R 3000. I don't earn a lot of money and am giving it to her, but I feel like they deserve so much more and if I had more I would give it to them. So, I ask of you today if you could maybe add R 2000 to that R 3000 and we could give them R5000 which might help them pay some of the funeral expenses that her father still needs to pay!! They need a break and I want to help give them one! I am looking forward to your response!
Thank you for you guys hard work. I cry almost every Wednesday morning when I listen to all the wonderful things you do for people!!
Kind regards
God bless
Lenice Struwig
