Home Oasis looks after 26 old people who receive a pension fund of R1380 pm. They pay R1100 per month, but this covers everything they need: a place to stay, water, electricity, food, groceries. It also includes transport to clinics, shopping and day-trips from time to time. The home does not receive any extra funding – besides these monthly contributions, so they have to run projects to make up the budgets every month. House Oasis has expanded to make space for 5 more people, but then they ran out of money to complete the bathroom.
They still need to complete the tiling, toilets and install geysers.
