Social media outrage over dominee caught drinking alcohol
A photograph of a dominee surfaced on Facebook and has gotten mixed reviews from a lot of people. The image that can currently be seen on the front page of the Beeld newspaper has sparked an outrage on social media.
Dominee Ewald Schmidt has landed himself in hot water after a photo was taken at Wanderers Stadium holding a beer in his hand.
The photo was taken back in February during a cricket match between The Proteas and England.
The photo was published on Ewald's Facebook page as a joke, however, the photo has received tons of backlash.
When asked for a comment for the Beeld newspaper regarding the image that was taken of Ewald holding a beer, Ewald said "It was 40 degrees at the cricket and so he bought a beer for himself and his friend. It was one innocent beer".
Schmidt also commented that he has been suffering from kidney stones and that his specialist told him that having a beer every now and then would help towards the kidney stones issue.
