Superkids: Tamia and Kobus!
Updated | By The Complimentary Breakfast
The Complimentary Breakfast is on the search for SUPERKIDS! We want to know of any child who has gone beyond the call of duty to help their fellow man, animals or nature.
This week, we are awarding two incredible individuals with the title of SUPERKID!
Little Tamia Booysen is currently 9 years old
and a learner at Laerskool Wonderboom in Pretoria. Her little sister Charne is
currently 6 years old. When Tamia was 4 years old and Charne 1 year old they
were sitting outside next to the pool while their mom Nistoria was on the other
side of the pool. Enjoying their time with their feet in the water, Charne
tried to reach for something in the water and then fell in. Tamia was quick to
react and without thinking and with no fear of falling in herself she quickly
grabbed her younger sister by the nappy and pulled her out before anything
could happen to here. Both girls could not swim at that stage, but that did not stop
Tamia from saving her younger sister's life.
Our second Super Kid is young Kobus Grobler. He is 10-years-old and is from Mokopane in Limpopo.
Kobus’ older brother Hekkie was diagnosed with leukemia in March 2015. Kobus was a match as a donor, and didn’t think twice about helping
his older brother out. Even though he said he was a bit scared, he didn’t mind
doing it to help his brother out. The cost of the transplant is over
R500,000 and the family is still in need of some funds but have had some
donations coming in from friends and family and other donors who saw the story
in the local newspaper.
