ANC wants to reduce number of provinces
Ever felt proud telling your friends you’ve visited most of the
provinces in the country?
Well, not for long!
It seems the ANC is determined to realign provinces, regardless of other parties and individuals being against the idea.
The ANC 10 years ago drew up a plan to reduce the number of provinces from nine to six. Six!
They claim it's in bid to improve service delivery.
NEC member Obed Bapela says: “It will result in the harmonising of powers and functions of provinces and local government and a framework for accountability of provincial and local government.”
