A video of a man believed to be the owner of a popular Johannesburg bar assaulting a staff member has gone viral.

A former staff member of Six Melville, Kemang Petlane, tweeted the CCTV footage on Sunday evening, with the caption: "I am absolutely sick at the owner of Six Melville and Liberation. Physically assaulting his staff. RT please. Let's stop him!"
People are enraged by the video and have called for a boycott of the establishment.
A response and apology has since been posted on the Six Melville Twitter page.
@KemangPetlane my unreserved apology. Regardless of context, I was wrong. Any level of violence is unacceptable

Another former employee has also taken to Twitter to complain about the bar owner.
I used to work for this asshole. Quit in less than 2 weeks. Lacks basic respect & humanity. Sies. https://t.co/RFUPSXP5T1
