Massive snake found in supermarket fridge
Updated | By Laila Majiet
This is not the type of chilled product one expects when reaching into the fridge at the supermarket!
A slithering snake is not what we're looking for when we go to the supermarket.
An unlucky merchandiser was in for a shock after finding a nearly 4m-long snake in the fridge at the Komatipoort Spar in Mpumalanga on Friday.
The snake, which is believed to be a python, has since been freed from the fridge and sent for observation before being released into the nearby Kruger National Park.
The incident had Twitter users scratching their head, with some tweeps having rather hilarious reasons for why and how the snake ended up in the fridge.
@crimeairnetwork But why would a cold blooded animal go into a fridge though? Totally out of character. This is fishy!

@Onenation_one @crimeairnetwork @robertmarawa Could be a publicity stunt. If business is bad use cheap advertising tactics. I now want to go visit that Spar..
