Vodacom cites 'fault' for disappearing data
Updated | By The Late Show
Hundreds of South Africans have taken to social media
complaining of disappearing data bundles and airtime this evening.
Many claim to have bought data only to receive a data depletion notification SMS just moments later.
Some have also complained of disappearing airtime.
Disgruntled data users seem to have used their last data to express their frustration with the network provider.
Oh, okay. Vodacom has now also entered the business of disappearing data?

Or am I late?
Hello @Vodacom how is it that data just keeps disappearing? I am so confused - a gig a minute??? I need answers please.

@Vodacom 40% of my Facebook timeline in the past 30min is about you and airtime/data disappearing. What's happening?

If you ever want to make a South African angry, take away something they have paid for.
Vodacom has since issued a short statement of sorts in response to the stream of complaints.
Hi Khanyi, our technicians are working hard to remedy the fault. Thank you for your patience
— Vodacom (@Vodacom) August 21, 2017
Vodacom is committed to ensuring that all affected customers will be refunded in full. Thanks again for your patience.

However, their response fails to truly explain the reasons behind the data disappearing.
Have you had your data disappear this evening?
