We've all walked past stalls with people offering us a free massage or dead sea products and sometimes live fish!

Some of us are able to resist the temptation but we all know someone that collects all these "cool things" Buy for because they couldn't say no to that free massage or that dead-sea exfoliator.

If you're a sucker for a good sales pitch. Here are some useful tips that can guide you in the "right" direction.

1. Take an adult along with you to the mall - Yes, that stingy friend of yours might come in handy.

2. Consider what the purpose of your trip to the mall is before you take your wallet out - Write a shopping list if you must.

3. Buy stuff you really need - Do you actually have a skin problem that requires you to spend R800 on a 5mil dead-sea exfoliator?

4. Play the waiting game - If you walk away and do your shopping then come back to the stall, do you still feel you need what they're selling you?

5. Do some quick math - Can you actually afford the product or will you have to have cereal with sugar water tomorrow?

6. Buy for the right reasons - There's nothing wrong with wanting to cook all your food with one gadget, but do you really need it?

7. Remember that it's Okay to buy nothing-Yes, you can go to the mall and buy absolutely nothing and still have a great day!
