Updated | By Kriya Gangiah
With all the talk about Mars and the Mars mission Martin chatted to Gary Knell CEO of the National Geographic Society about the next generation of scientists in South Africa

Getting the first humans to Mars will be exciting, challenging and risky, and will probably involve the private spaceflight company SpaceX — at least, that seems to be the thesis of the debut episode of the new National Geographic TV series "Mars."
Yesterday on the MBD Martin and the team spoke to Adriana Marais- Mars One Astronaut Candidate. Adriana has qualified in the top 100 people selected to partake in the Mars One expedition. This project also includes the fact that you may never return home again. The project will send four astronauts at a time to establish permanent residence on Mars every two years, starting in 2024.
Today they spoke to Gary Knell CEO of the National Geographic Society about National Geographic TV series "Mars."
