Dad meets daughter for the first time after 40 years
This dad had an extra special Father's Day gift - the chance to finally meet his daughter for the first time.
Al Annunziata met his daughter Jyll Justamond for the first time on June 11.
Jyll said that she found Al after tracking him down on Facebook on April 3 — her 40th birthday. She started searching for her biological father years after learning that people she thought were her parents were actually her grandparents.
Speaking to ABC, Jyll said: "My biological mother was 18 when she had me and for whatever the reason, felt that she wasn’t capable or old enough to raise me. She asked her stepfather and mother to raise me and I didn’t know I wasn’t their child. I found out when I was 10."
After confronting her mother, Jyll decided to search for her father. Armed with the little information she had, she posted in a Facebook group and well, the rest is a beautiful happy ending.
The father-daughter duo now plans to spend Christmas together in Las Vegas, where Jyll will meet more of her family.
