The colours of the night was most certainly white, red and various shades of blue and while Kate Hudson stole the show in a white cut-out dress, it is Heidi Klum who made heads turn.

The red carpet also saw lots of colour and sparkle with newlywed Amal Clooney making her red carpet debut.

Amal looked stunning in a Dior gown, but the white gloves was a bit too much.

Never the less, she is likely to set a trend with the rich and famous following suit at the Oscars.

Jennifer Aniston also opted for a black gown while "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike wore a white Vera Wang gown featuring cut-outs.
