Iranian woman becomes a bikini designer after receiving 40 lashes for wearing a miniskirt
Well, if this isn't inspirational, we have no idea what would be. A woman received 40 lashes with a whip after she was seen wearing a miniskirt. Now, she is a well-known fashion designer.
Tala Raassi has since sparked a very successful career as a fashion designer. If that's not enough, she is a bikini fashion designer.
The incident took place after a military force invaded a party that Tala and her friends were attending, however, there was no trace of drugs or alcohol.
Instead, the men took Tala and her friends to a detention centre.
Tala commented saying, "They viewed me as a sinner, a criminal, and an infidel," she said. "We were treated like terrorists caught plotting to overthrow the government." With that being said they lashed out on her with 40 whip hits. While being hit, Tala could hear the lashes and feel the pain. "I could hear the whip whooshing through the air back and forth, and my back felt like it had just caught on fire. It was burning. I thought I was going to pass out. There were no screams left in me."
Raassi has since gone on to launch her fashion brand called, Fashion is Freedom. This is one incredible story of showing us all how one can come back from the worst of places. Well done, Tala!
