Listen: want to know what film Leon Schuster wishes he hadn't made?
Updated | By Tando Ntunja
Amazing how the years go by! Did you know that filmmaker Leon Schuster has been making South Africans laugh for the last 30 years? A great coincidence that we're also celebrating 3 Decades of Jacaranda FM this year!
Having started off in the 'prank' genre of filmmaking, Leon Schuster is as much a part of South African culture as braaing and the frequent use of the word 'Howzit' when people greet each other.
In other words, one can almost not imagine a moment where Schuster's films were not a part of their lives growing up.
Having made his first film "You Must Be Joking" in 1986, this year marks 30 years of Schuster being a box office smasher in South Africa.
Schuster was elevated to bonafide 'icon' status in 2001 when "Mr Bones" grossed R33 million at the South African box office - a historic record at the time.
