Offensive Stereotypes about SA towns
Updated | By Boledi Makofane
We've all heard all sorts of stereotypes about our hometowns, but how many of those are true?

We all know there are stereotypes about our hometowns even though we don't really know where they come from. Some of us have tried to defend those stereotypes but people believe what they believe about a place if majority says it is indeed so.
For example; if you're from Limpopo, you've probably heard that Limpopo is the witchcraft capital of South Africa or that everyone there is poor but when you are in Limpopo you don't really think so because your experience is quite different.
If you're from Cape Town, we assume you've never left Cape Town or maybe don't even think it's part of SA because it is perceived as this far away place that has a different government.
Our map shows the kind of perceptions South Africans have about towns or provinces. What are your stereotypes about certain towns and where do they come from?
