Graeme Carr, 38, appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Thursday and was told to return to court on August 6.
The Gugulethu Cape College teacher was granted R3000 bail. He faces a charge of dealing in dagga or alternatively, the illegal possession of drugs.
The State alleges he was found with 120 dagga plants, 10 seedlings and a box containing dagga at his Kenilworth home in March. He reportedly intended pleading not guilty to the charges.
