Shocking video shows careworker spraying patient with aerosol
Updated | By Lethu Ndimande
This is definitely not what you would expect to see when you leave your family member in the ‘capable’ hands of a careworker?
Mrs Boylan’s family told the Birmingham Magistrates' Court that they inserted a hidden camera in her room at the Bupa-run Perry Locks Care Home in Birmingham, United Kingdom, after they noticed bruises on her.
The video shows Susan Draper, who was Mrs Boylan’s careworker at the time, verbally abusing her and then spraying an aerosol can on her.
Mrs Boylan is heard using the words “stop it” when Susan sprays the aerosol can in her face.
After being told that the spray had gone into a colleague’s mouth, Susan is heard saying "it smells better than poo".
She has since been found guilty of ill treatment by the Birmingham Magistrates' Court.
